Our Mission

Founded in 1997, the Community Foundation of Washington County MD, Inc. manages and administers over 250 funds overseeing the investment of more than $31 million. The Foundation has a five-year annualized investment return that makes it one of the top performing community foundations in the country.

Our mission is to inspire, grow and steward philanthropy for the benefit of Washington County through the creation of endowment funds, benefitting local nonprofits. We believe in creating a healthy and vibrant community through engaged philanthropy, community knowledge and leadership. Our values include caring, responsible, flexible and knowledgeable.
